Sheldon Preskorn, MD

Sheldon Preskorn, MD serves as Senior Vice President, Neuroscience at Dr. Vince Clinical Research. He brings decades of experience in clinical research, psychiatry, neuropsychopharmacology, drug development and medical education, with expertise in central nervous system therapeutics, regulatory consulting and clinical trial design.

Throughout his career, Dr. Preskorn has collaborated with more than 150 pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device and diagnostic companies, contributing to the development of innovative therapies across multiple therapeutic areas. He has played a role in 17 successful New Drug Applications and has made significant scientific contributions through more than 500 peer-reviewed publications, books and book chapters. His work has been cited over 20,000 times in the world’s medical literature, reflecting his longstanding influence in clinical research and psychopharmacology. Dr. Preskorn has also served as a consultant to the FDA, the European Medicines Agency (EMA) and the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and has lectured at medical schools and scientific conferences in 55 countries around the world. He is considered a foundational leader in clinical psychopharmacology over the last 50 years and is a recipient of a NIMH Research Scientist Development Award. His work spans the entire gamut of drug development from preclinical through registrational trials and has sustained research productive over 50 years. The breadth and the depth of Dr. Preskorn’s expertise is a strong asset to companies throughout the drug development process.

In his current role, Dr. Preskorn provides scientific leadership and strategic guidance for clinical research programs, supporting study design, protocol development and regulatory strategy. He works closely with investigators, sponsors and research teams to advance high-quality clinical trials and promote scientific excellence throughout the research process.
