George J. Atiee, M.D., serves as the Director of Medical Monitoring Services at Dr. Vince Clinical Research. He has over 29 years of experience across all phases of clinical research, with the last 26 dedicated to Phase I research across multiple therapeutic areas.
Throughout his career, Dr. Atiee has served as a leader in multiple settings, starting with the position of Chief Resident of his Family Medicine program, then as Chief of the largest free-standing clinic in the US Air Force, separating with rank of Major. In private practice, he was a founding member of a primary care group that went from two clinics to well over fifty. For seven years, he served as VP and Medical Director for a three-hundred-bed Phase I unit, where he also served as the CLIA lab director. During this time, the unit completed, on average, ninety protocols per year. Under his direction, he and his staff performed many technically challenging studies, including those involving sequential CSF sampling, AME radioisotope trials, hepatic/renal programs and multiple device trials.
In his current role, Dr. Atiee is responsible for providing medical monitoring for the majority of sponsors utilizing DVCR CRO services. He is involved across all stages of the clinical trial process, beginning with protocol development, IB review, assessing subject eligibility and reviewing all safety data. Once clinical conduct is complete, Dr. Atiee reviews all coding as well as the CSR. He serves as a resource for principal investigators, project management, and clinical staff. Most importantly, he interacts with the sponsor medical teams to provide critical study data and acts as an interface between sponsors and PI.
Dr. Atiee is committed to ensuring the safety of clinical trial participants and the rigorous performance of all study procedures, helping the DVCR team to deliver best-in-class clinical conduct, project oversight, data management, and timely delivery of study results.
